The EX55 offers programmable resistance with an 8-level range. The heavier 6.5 kilogram flywheel maintains pedal and arm momentum and offers a smooth, quiet operation. It includes eight preset programs--manual, rolling, valley, fat burn, ramp, fitness test, random, and target heart rate--and contact heart rate monitors built into the smaller subsidiary handles below the computer console. The SmartBoard computer console has a neutral LCD screen and easy-to-access control buttons for changing resistance and incline.

The Horizon Superconductor flywheel design provides continuous velocity, so as your feet move the pedals, the momentum carries you through the complete motion. It also applies a magnetic brake to the flywheel for resistance for more consistent resistance during a workout. The Instep stacked flywheel design--with the flywheel above the pedals versus in line with them--gives you a lower step-on height. You get a stride length that's longer, more natural, and more versatile across users, workouts, and fitness levels. And, as an added benefit, the unit is smaller and shorter, so it fits in almost any room, including low-ceiling basements.

Horizon's Ergoflow elliptical geometry is around your body, not the machine's components.
